Job summary

US Pediatric Partners is seeking a dedicated nurse to join our pediatric practice in New Jersey. You will assist providers, deliver high-quality patient care, and support families. Requirements include an Associate degree, NJ RN or LPN license, and experience in a pediatric setting.

Proficiency with electronic medical records and strong communication are essential. We promote teamwork, HIPAA compliance, and patient safety while delivering compassionate care to children and supporting families in

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required.
  • RN or LPN license in New Jersey required.
  • Experience in a pediatric practice preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and document vital signs.
  • Instruct patients about medications and diets per provider.
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare for examinations.
  • Assist providers during exams and prepare specimens for testing.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and manage supplies and sterilization.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by physicians.
  • Collect blood samples following established procedures.
  • Maintain logs and required checks (e.g., refrigerator temps, medications).
  • Triage messages from patients and front office staff.
  • Complete mandatory training and perform other duties as assigned.

What a day looks like as a Nurse
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart.
  • Instructs patients about medications and special diets as instructed by the medical provider.
  • Explains treatment procedures to patients.
  • Prepares patients for examination.
  • Assists the provider during patient exams.
  • Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
  • Performs basic laboratory tests.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
  • Prepares and administers medications as directed by the physician.
  • Performs blood collection following established procedures and utilizing universal precautions in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Removes sutures and changes dressings.
  • Maintain all logs and required checks in accordance with assigned duties (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
  • Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
  • Completes all mandatory training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Associates degree required.
  • State licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) or LPN in New Jersey.
  • Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications; prior experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write effectively.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines, in a detail-oriented manner. Experience in a pediatric medical practice preferred.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke free environment.
  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids may be required.
  • May at times work under stressful situations.
  • Handicapped accessible.
  • Good visual acuity and ability to verbally communicate.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds.

Shifts will include weekend hours.
