Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Graduate Nurse to begin their nursing career through a structured residency program and mentorship. You will provide and supervise patient care under a preceptor, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate care.

The role requires an ADN or BSN, current RN license or eligibility, and BLS. This full-time night shift offers comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in the applicable state is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Participation in a designated nurse residency/orientation program is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care under supervision of a preceptor.
• Applies nursing knowledge to diagnoses, procedures, medications, and equipment.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments considering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develops measurable goals and individualized care plans.
• Administers medications and treatments following safety standards.
• Performs ongoing reassessment and modification of care plans based on outcomes.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses, therapists, patients and families.
• Participates in rounds and collaborates with the healthcare team.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to ethical standards.
