Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the ambulatory care team serving Barnes West County Hospital and the Center for Advanced Medicine. You will perform patient histories, examinations, and coordinate with physicians to create patient‑centered care plans.

Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostics, preventive care, and managing acute/chronic conditions, while educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• MSN required with APN licensure or eligibility within three months of hire
• Basic Life Support certification mandatory
• Prior urology experience preferred; no specific work experience required

Job description

• Provide direct patient care, including obtaining histories, performing assessments, and conducting examinations
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
• Perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care
• Treat and manage acute and chronic disease conditions
• Develop and implement patient-centered care plans with physicians and other care providers
• Manage health conditions through prescriptive authority or referrals
• Perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations
• Bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreement when applicable
• Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers
• Maintain accurate medical records and required reports, records, and statistics
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
• Provide management services for clinical research study projects and monitor participating subjects
• Follow departmental, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• Participate in quality and process improvement activities
• Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, meetings, and workshops
• Maintain an independent ambulatory clinic schedule averaging 18–20 patients per day
• Split coverage between Barnes West County Hospital and the Center for Advanced Medicine

Requirements

• M.S.N. - Master Of Science In Nursing - Nurse Practitioner
• APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire
• Basic Life Support certification; online certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
• Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty
• Prior urology experience preferred
• No specific work experience is required
• Driver's license is not required
