Job summary

Cerebrocare seeks a part-time Neurology Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced clinical care in an outpatient neurology clinic in Texas. You will conduct evaluations, manage treatment plans, order tests, and collaborate with a supervising neurologist to provide high-quality patient care.

Shifts include three weekdays 12:00 PM–8:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, with flexibility for evenings and weekends. Texas NP licensure and national certification are required.

Qualifications

  • MSN or DNP in nursing.
  • Active Texas NP license in good standing.
  • National NP certification (ANCC or AANP).
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and patient evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage neurological conditions, including post-TBI care.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans with neurologists.
  • Prescribe medications, injections, and therapies per Texas scope.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies (EEG, imaging, labs).
  • Communicate results and recommendations to patients.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Part-Time

Location: Texas
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Operations Manager / Supervising Neurologist

Job Summary

The Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced clinical care to patients with neurological conditions under the supervision and collaboration of a neurologist. This role includes conducting comprehensive evaluations, managing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing ongoing patient education and follow-up care in an outpatient neurology clinic setting.

This is a part-time position focused on after-hours and weekend patient care, providing accessible neurological services outside of traditional clinic hours.

Required Schedule
  • Three days per week: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Flexibility to work the required evening and weekend schedule is essential.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
  • Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and patient evaluations.

  • Diagnose and manage neurological conditions, including those resulting from TBI-related injuries.

  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with neurologists.

  • Prescribe medications, injections, and therapies in accordance with Texas scope-of-practice laws.

  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies, including EEGs, imaging, and laboratory tests.

  • Communicate diagnostic results and treatment recommendations to patients.

Patient Management & Education
  • Provide patients and caregivers with education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Conduct follow-up visits and monitor treatment outcomes.

  • Address patient questions and concerns with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.

Collaboration & Documentation
  • Collaborate closely with neurologists, medical assistants, EEG technicians, and administrative staff.

  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and all applicable federal and state standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP).

  • Active Texas Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.

  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).

  • DEA registration or ability to obtain.

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.

  • Availability to work the required evening and Saturday schedule.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in neurology, neuroscience, or specialty outpatient clinics.

  • Familiarity with EEG workflows and neurological diagnostics.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
