Job summary

Banner Health's University Medical Center Tucson is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Level 1 trauma team. The role combines clinic and inpatient responsibilities in a full-time capacity at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson, 1625 N. Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719.

You will participate in trauma activations, perform procedures, manage patient care, and contribute to education and research initiatives within a renowned Level 1 center.

Qualifications

• Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Arizona license or eligibility to practice in Arizona.
• Surgical patient care experience preferred; new graduates may be considered.
• RNFA, BLS, ATLS, ACLS required; PALS/ABLS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trauma Bay presence: actively participate during trauma activations.
• Comprehensive evaluation of trauma patients.
• Order tests, consult specialists, and arrange admissions.
• Perform procedures: chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, laceration repairs, I&Ds, and occasional intubations.
• Maintain continuity of care as a consistent team presence.
• Coordinate care across multiple channels with the team.
• Maintain thorough patient records and documentation.
• Assist with discharge planning with case managers.
• Provide first assist during surgical cases when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Details

• Role: Combined clinic and inpatient responsibilities
• Schedule: Full-time | Monday - Sunday | Four; ten-hour shifts per week
• Shifts: Day and mid-shift coverage (night coverage possibility in future)
• Location: Banner - University Medical Center Tucson | 1625 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85719

Qualifications

• Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Arizona license or eligibility
• Surgical patient care experience preferred (new graduates considered)
