Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP) to join our Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU team. The selected provider will co-manage trauma ICU patients and participate in education, consultation, and research in a fast-paced academic setting.

The ideal candidate brings acute care, trauma, or TSICU experience, ACNP certification, and board/DEA/BLS-ACLS credentials; location is Phoenix with rotating weekends and potential nights.

Qualifications

• Current ACNP certification is required.
• First Assist Credentials preferred for ACNPs.
• Current Board Certification, DEA license, and BLS/ACLS certification required.
• TNCC or ATLS certification preferred.
• Procedural certifications are required within the first year of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years in acute care, trauma, or TSICU bedside care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages trauma surgery ICU patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.
• Involved in clinical management, including therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of tests, and prescription of medications.
• Educate, consult, and participate in research within a fast-paced academic environment.

Job description

Banner - University Medicine Phoenix seeks a dynamic and team-focused Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP) to join our Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP). BUMCP is the leading accredited and ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center serving the Greater Phoenix communities with exceptional patient care and empathy. Our advanced practice providers are continually learning, adapting, and detail-oriented in co-managing our trauma surgery ICU patients via a respectful and collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate is experienced and comfortable being involved in clinical management of patients, performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, education, consultation, and research. This position is also open to highly motivated new graduate APPs with prior acute care, trauma, or ICU experience that enjoy a fast-paced academic environment.

The selected provider directly manages trauma surgery intensive care unit patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.

Work Schedule: Full-Time

Minimum Requirements:

• Current ACNP certification

• First Assist Credentials preferred for ACNPs.

• Current Board Certification, DEA license, and BLS/ACLS certification are required.

• TNCC or ATLS certification is preferred.

• Acquiring procedures/certifications are required within the year of hire (Bronchoscopy, arterial line, central venous line, ultrasound (FAST), chest tube placement, brain death certification)

• Minimum of 3 year experience in acute care, trauma, or TSICU bedside experienced preferred

Acquisition of procedure expectations:

• Bronchoscopy

• Basic wound care

• Point of care ultrasound procedures (FAST=focused assessment with sonography for trauma)
