Job summary

Acadia Healthcare seeks a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join East Tennessee Behavioral Health in Knoxville, TN. The PMHNP will perform psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a 90-bed facility.

Full-time salary ranges from $140,000 to $145,000 with a monthly productivity bonus and a weekend rounding stipend of $600/day. Overnight call pay is $200/night; one weekend per month onsite rounding is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed NP with board certification for PMHNP or board-eligible status.
• Active DEA license preferred.

We are seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join East Tennessee Behavioral Health in Knoxville, TN. We are also seeking 1–2 additional PRN PMHNPs to support our growing team.

Position Highlights:

• Full-time and PRN opportunities available
• Monday–Friday business hours
• One weekend per month of onsite rounding required
• Average caseload of 16 patients per day
• Full-time salary: $140,000–$145,000
• PRN rate: $65–$72/hour
• Monthly productivity bonus for full-time providers

East Tennessee Behavioral Health is a 90-bed acute inpatient behavioral health facility offering inpatient, IOP, PHP, and ECT services. Providers work alongside a collaborative team of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners dedicated to delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare. The facility utilizes WellSky EMR and maintains an average daily census of 70 patients.

Responsibilities

Summary:

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team.
• Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plan
• Assess physical and psychiatric health of patient and formulate measures to meet patient needs.
• Chart clinical observation (direct or through dictation), evaluations and treatment of patient in required time according to facility guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians and other staff as necessary to provide quality care for patient within appropriate guidelines.
• Encourage family involvement in patient care. Respond to identified patient and family educational needs.
• Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements.
• Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
• Provide on-call responsibilities on scheduled basis directed by medical staff.
• May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe medication.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program required.
• Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and patient care required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Practicing Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
• Licensed to practice in the state in which the facility operates.
• DEA license.
