Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Clinician (APC) to join the inpatient neurology/stroke coverage team on a full-time basis. The APC will provide direct patient care within a physician-led group, collaborating with nurses and physicians to deliver evidence-based stroke care and other neuro-related services.

New graduates are welcome; APRNs must have Acute Care NP certification or obtain it within four years of hire.

  • Bachelor’s degree and accredited APC program required.
  • National certification for APC specialty required.
  • Kentucky license to practice as an APC must be current.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care as part of a physician-led team.
  • Collaborate with health professionals to ensure high-quality care.
  • Adhere to state laws and approved Medical Staff privileges.

Position Details

Location: 1720 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, KY

Position Details

  • Full-time
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Swing shift with 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts
  • Inpatient Neurology/Stroke coverage
    • Care for patients with ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, and other stroke-related conditions
  • Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
  • APRNs must have Acute Care NP certification or be willing to obtain it within four years of hire
  • Structured one-on-one training provided
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited APC program. Terminal degree in APC field preferred.
  • National certification from the appropriate national certifying agency for the particular APC.
  • Must maintain national certification.
  • Eligible at all times to be insured for professional liability.
  • Current valid and unrestricted license to practice as an APC in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
  • BCLS required through the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS as required for position
