Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Cooley Dickinson Emergency Department in Northampton, MA seeks a Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join the team. Per diem shifts cover a variety of 10-hour blocks, including weekends, with responsibilities across ED patient care.

The APP will work with board-certified ED physicians to provide high-quality, timely care, including medical screening, evaluation, and treatment across a wide range of acuity levels for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

  • Two years of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred.
  • Active Physician Assistant licensure in good standing.
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced ED team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medical screening examinations and initial assessments.
  • Evaluate and treat emergency conditions and respond to changes in patient status.
  • Document findings and plans of care timely and accurately; prescribe medications per policy.

Available shift options include:7:00 AM – 5:00 PM10:00 AM – 8:00 PM1:00 PM – 11:00 PM6:00 PM – 4:00 AMThe Cooley Dickinson Emergency Department cares for approximately 35,000 patients annually. Our team is committed to delivering responsive, compassionate, and high-quality emergency care to every patient, regardless of their ability to pay. APPs work collaboratively with our board-certified emergency medicine physicians to provide safe, timely, and evidence-based care for patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions.APPs manage patients across a broad spectrum of acuity, perform a variety of emergency procedures, and provide care to patients of all ages throughout the department. Responsibilities include performing medical screening examinations, evaluating and treating emergency conditions, and responding to changes in patient status during their ED stay.Our APPs also have opportunities to teach APP students and participate in our dedicated educational program, which supports ongoing clinical growth and professional development.The emergency department is supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team, including physicians, emergency nurses certified in trauma care, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric life support, as well as emergency technicians, administrative staff, and patient observers who work together to provide efficient, compassionate care.SummaryThe Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider.
