Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Florida seeks a Radiology Advanced Practice Provider to review radiology consultations, obtain histories, explain consents, and perform fluoroscopic procedures across rehab MB, UGI, SBFT, chest fluoroscopy and Voiding Cystograms.

The position supports inpatient rounds, clinic coverage, ICU rounds, and emergency dept collaboration under supervision of a radiologist. Requires ARNP or PA with RRA program completion and ARRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing and Physician Assistant required.
• Completion of accredited Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) program with ARRT certification.
• Current Florida license as an RRA/APRN/PA with BLS.

Responsibilities

• Review radiology consultations and obtain patient history for radiology procedures.
• Assist inpatient teams with rounds and daily care decisions in hospital units.
• Support Emergency Department physicians in acute care and chest pain observation unit.

Overview

For Radiology assignments, under the direction of a supervising radiologist, review consultations for radiology procedures, obtain history and physical examination, explain and obtain informed consents, and perform fluoroscopic radiographic procedures. These procedures include but are not limited to; Rehab Modified Barium Swallows, Upper GIs, Small Bowel Follow-throughs, Chest Fluoroscopy and Voiding Cystograms.

For Inpatient assignment, assists the attending physician in the care and management of patients on Inpatient units within the hospital. This includes making patient rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. Will make frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients and direct care accordingly. May also see patients in the clinic environment.

For Emergency Dept. assignment assists the Emergency Department physicians in the comprehensive medical care of the patient, in the emergency department and the chest pain observation unit and in any role the supervisory physician deems appropriate and consistent with applicable law, hospital regulation and licensure and clinical privileges. The incumbent will consult with the supervisory physician to determine the most appropriate care for patients. Acute Care ARNP or PA Required.

For Clinic assignment, under supervision of an attending physician this position will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients which will include but not be limited to taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests, diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and providing assistance to the patient regarding a plan of treatment and education. Other duties may include sharing call hours, phone coverage, and seeing admitted patients within the hospital.

For ICU assignment, assists the attending ICU physician in the care and management of patients. This includes making patient rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. Will make frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients and direct care accordingly. Acute Care ARNP or PA Required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Nursing and Physician Assistant.

Completion of accredited Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA) program with ARRT certification and Registered Radiologist Assistant credential.

Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/ Physician Assistant or Registered Radiologist Assistantwithin UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current and clear license as a Registered Radiologist Assistant, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Florida. BLS is required.
