Job summary

Highland Hospital of Rochester NY is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to join its in-house Psychiatry team. The role covers one or two shifts per pay period, Monday–Friday days, in Rochester.

The NP will conduct psychiatric evaluations, collaborate with medical teams, and support the Psychiatry Consult Liaison service for medically acute patients. Requirements include NYS NP licensure in psychiatry and ANCC PMHNP certification, with a minimum of two years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in accredited psychiatric NP program (across the lifespan).
• Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license in psychiatry is required; board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations via chart review, interviews with staff/family, and assessment of patient psychiatric needs.
• Collaborate with medical teams to place psychopharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment recommendations; support medical workups as indicated.
• Liaise with medical and nursing staff to educate and coordinate psychiatric consult services for medically acute patients.

Highland Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to join its in house Psychiatry team. Candidates for this role would be needed for one or two shifts every pay period, to cover hours during the week, Monday - Friday, Days.

Some Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

The role is designated to support Highland Hospital’s Psychiatry Consult Liaison service. Highland hospital is looking to grow its psychiatric consult services for medically acute patients with psychiatric needs.

• Provide education and liaison services with medical team and nursing staff through the hospital.
• Provide psychiatric evaluation upon request of medical attendings. Evaluation includes review of patient’s chart, interviewing staff and or family members (if appropriate), interviewing assessment of the patient and their psychiatric needs/diagnosis.
• Candidate should be able to work with medical teams to place recommendations such as psychopharmacologic, behavioral interventions not pharmacologically related, and further medical workup concerning for cause of psychiatric symptoms to assist with psychiatric concerns in patient’s at Highland Hospital.

Salary Range

$70 - 100 per hour depending on shift annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in accredited psychiatric Nurse practitioner program across the lifespan
• Licensure/certification: valid nurse practitioner in psychiatry NYS license, board certified with ANCC for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (across the lifespan)
• Recommended Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner +/- additional psychiatric roles as nurse
• Skills: interpersonal skills in verbal and written communication, safe patient care, psychopharmacology knowledge, communication with interdisciplinary teams, appropriate documentation and billing
