Job summary

Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center in Camp Hill, PA is seeking an inpatient RN to assess patient health problems, develop care plans, administer nursing care, and maintain medical records.

The RN may work at Hampden Medical Center as needed and will monitor patient status, provide health maintenance guidance, and report changes, with a 0.9 FTE schedule and Day shift. A $10,000 sign-on is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state of employment is required.
• BLS certification is required prior to orientation.
• Minimum one year inpatient or ED experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems and develop nursing care plans.
• Administer nursing care to ill or injured patients and maintain medical records.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes; administer medications and monitor for side effects.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

In addition to Holy Spirit Medical Center, this position may be required to work at Hampden Medical Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact required.
• BLS required prior to orientation completion.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in inpatient (med/surg, telemetry, PCU, or ICU) or emergency department preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in critical care, emergency department, and/or women's and babies preferred
