Job summary

Southside in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work with the medical team, provide supervised patient services, assess care, and apply independent judgment under the Director. You will obtain health histories, perform routine treatments and tests, develop health promotion plans, educate patients and families, arrange referrals, supervise staff, and participate in team conferences.

A Georgia NP license and Family Nurse Practitioner program completion are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a license; three (3) years of experience preferred.
• A registered nurse who has satisfactorily completed a formal family nurse practitioner educational program.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience desired.
• Current nurse’s registration by Georgia Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a health, and psychosocial history and report findings in systematic, accurate, and succinct form.
• Performs routine medical treatments and diagnostic procedures within scope of practice.
• Order/perform and interpret routine laboratory tests.
• Develops a health promotion and maintenance plan including disease prevention and education.
• Provides assessment, education, and management for patients/families.
• Provides care for selected complicated patients as directed by the physician and arranges referrals.
• Guides and develops nursing intervention skills within the team area.
• Participates in community health through physical appraisals and screening procedures.
• Keeps records of activities and performances of Nursing Staff.
• Attends team conferences and develops in-service education for staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
