MUSC Health is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider in Charleston, SC to work within the Orthopaedics Urgent Care setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and performing therapeutic procedures. Candidates should have completed an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program, with a preference for at least two years of relevant experience.
The position involves teamwork in a diverse patient care environment and requires continuous returns for patient quality and compliance. Licensure and certifications are required.
The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider interested in working full‑time in our Orthopaedics Urgent Care setting. The advanced practice provider will assist with the urgent need for providing access to care to patients with urgent orthopaedic needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of teamwork and will help to build and expand our practice caring for diverse patients.
Hours per week: 32‑36 hours
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Sunday‑Saturday, (3) weekday 12‑hour shifts 8:00 pm and (2) rotating weekend 4‑hour shifts 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.
Two years as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Orthopaedic Surgery or another surgical subspecialty preferred.
Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
