Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group is looking for an Orthopedic Surgery Assistant based in Lubbock, Texas. You'll support patients with orthopedic care, assist physicians in a clinical setting, and be involved in hospital call coverage.

Qualifications

  • 3 years professional nursing or physician assistance experience in a clinic/hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Orthopedic Surgery care to patients.
  • Available for hospital call coverage and rounding.
  • Documentation support with orthopedic surgery physician.

Responsibilities

Provides Orthopedic Surgery care to patients acting as an assistant to physicians in the clinic. Must be available to participate in hospital call coverage, rounding, and documentation support with orthopedic surgery physician as needed.

Job Details
  • Duration: Fulltime
  • Education: BA/BS/Undergraduate with appropriate certifications
  • Experience: Minimal experience acceptable; orthopedic experience preferred; operating room experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant program
  • Texas Registered Nurse license AND Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse recognition through Texas Board of Nursing or Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Designation or Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • 3 years professional nursing experience in a clinic/hospital setting or 3 years professional physician assistance experience in a clinic/hospital setting
