Schedule Details

Full Time

Scheduled quarterly 12‑hour day shifts and 13‑hour night shifts.

Weekend schedule: 1 out of every 3 weekends.

Shift Differential: Weekday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM $3.80, 11 PM–7 AM $7.00; Weekend 7 AM–3 PM $4.00, 3 PM–11 PM $7.80, 11 PM–7 AM $11.00. On‑call (Mon‑Fri) $5.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment, and management of chemotherapy side effects and comorbidities.
• Manage side effects and complications from underlying co‑morbidities, hematologic disease, and therapy while collaborating with a Hematologist.
• Consult and make referrals to physicians and other health‑care team members as appropriate, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Provide educational support to patients and families.
• Operate as part of a multidisciplinary team with high autonomy in a 24/7 hospital practice; schedule is blocked into quarters (4 per year) with required 4 weekends per quarter and 2 holidays per year. Flexible scheduling allows shift trading and a self‑scheduling model.
• New staff undergo daytime training for 9–12 months before transitioning to overnight coverage. Additional financial compensation is provided for evening, weekend, and night coverage.

Qualifications

• Masters‑prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a Nurse Practitioner program, or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Minnesota RN license and certification as ACNP or ANP preferred; FNP certification preferred with hospital‑based nursing experience in Hem‑Onc/BMT, ICU, Cardiology, or Internal Medicine.
• Current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice required if PA.
• Registration with U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) required; BLS and ACLS required prior to start.
• Must attach 2–3 letters of reference (external or internal candidates) or 3 letters of reference from preceptors (new graduates) or 3 most recent performance evaluations (Mayo Clinic employees).

Compensation

• Base salary range: $128,419.20 – $179,108.80.
• Shift differential and on‑call as above.
• Additional compensation for evening, weekend, and night coverage.
