Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida seeks a clinically versatile Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Gastroenterology & Hepatology team. Responsibilities include obtaining patient history, performing exams, ordering and performing diagnostic procedures, developing treatment plans, and counseling patients.

New graduates welcome. Requires FL RN and APRN license and certification as FNP/ANP/ACNP or PA with NCCPA; active BLS and DEA registration.

Qualifications

• Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, ACNP.
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining patient history.
• Performing physical examinations.
• Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Formulating a diagnostic impression.
• Developing and implementing a treatment plan.
• Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
• Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs.
• Making appropriate referrals.
• Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policies.
