Job summary

Capital Health seeks a seasoned Nurse-Midwife to provide comprehensive obstetric care, including labor and delivery support, triage, and patient education. The role includes supervising Nurse-Midwifery students and residents during clinical rotations, and collaborating with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications include an active Nurse-Midwifery license with prescriptive authority and a Master’s degree.

Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).Pay Range:$111,529.60 - $155,688.00Scheduled Weekly Hours:24Position OverviewResponsibilitiesEvaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests. Reviews and accuratelyrecords laboratory results in prenatal record. Reviews and interprets laboratory resultswith client. Refers abnormal results to case manager for follow-up.Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions.Participates in constant labor and delivery coverage for caseload. Exercises discretion and judgment when evaluating and determining disposition of clients in triage area appropriately.Collaborates, consults, and refers with physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-midwifery regulations. Acts as stand-by for unattended private deliveries when physician is unavailable. Acts as Cesarean section first assist for clients and private physicians as needed.Completes post-partum rounds and discharges in a timely fashion. Completes billing slip at time of discharge.Participates in multi-disciplinary conference. Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually.
