Job summary

Optum AZ is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for Primary Care (Outpatient) in Tucson, AZ. This full-time role features 36 patient contact hours weekly, with roughly 18–22 patients per day, supported by an MA team and EPIC/Dragon for streamlined documentation.

New graduates are welcome and mentorship is available. Relocation funds and a strong benefits package accompany a generous salary range of $104,500 to $156,000 annually base pay, with equity options and 401(k) contributions.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Arizona NP or PA license by start date.
• National NP certification through AANC or AANP, or PA certification through NCCPA.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Practice outpatient primary care at full scope of license.
• Work full-time, Monday through Friday with 36 patient contact hours.
• See about 18–22 patients per day with EPIC EMR and AI notetaking.
• Join a dedicated MA team and on-site lab/pharmacy resources.

• Practice outpatient Primary Care at the full scope of your license

Required Qualifications:

• Unrestricted Arizona Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant license or ability to obtain prior to start date
• National Nurse Practitioner certification through AANC or AANP; OR Physician Assistant national certification through NCCPA
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start date

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in providing patient care under a Value Based Care Model
• Experience in outpatient Primary Care
• Knowledge of HEDIS measures, CAHPS, HOS, HCC Coding documentation
• Proficient in Medicare Annual Wellness visits
• Proficient in EMR systems & technology (EPIC Preferred)

The salary range for this role is $104,500 to $156,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
