NewYork-Presbyterian's Ambulatory Care Network in New York, NY, seeks a Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) for the Comprehensive Health Program on days. You will diagnose, treat, manage acute and chronic illness, provide psychotherapy, and collaborate with behavioral health clinicians in a team-based setting.

Requirements include a Master’s in Advanced Nursing Practice, PMH-NP certification, NYS RN/FNP licensure, BLS, and at least two years of NP experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred; on-site

• Experience caring for HIV populations is required or strongly preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred for patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute illnesses and common chronic conditions.
• Provide psychotherapy to patients as part of a team-based approach.
• Prescribe medications and monitor efficacy and safety for both acute and chronic conditions.
• Interpret labs and diagnostic studies; adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Offer supervision and clinical consultation to behavioral health clinicians and other team members.

Today, we care for over 3,000 individuals with HIV, hepatitis C, STDs, and other infectious conditions, including prevention services such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - NP - Comprehensive Health Program - Days

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing acute illness; providing psychotherapy; prescribing medication for both acute and chronic illness; interpreting labs and diagnostic studies, as well as provide clinical consultation and supervision to our behavioral health clinicians (social workers) and other clinical team members. The individual must be able to work with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills and a desire to work with populations who have a high prevalence of mental illness, trauma and substance use. This is a full time position working Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm at NewYork-Presbyterian’s Ambulatory Care Network/Comprehensive Health Program in Washington Heights.
