Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a qualified Family Nurse Practitioner to join our care teams. This role focuses on comprehensive patient care through comprehensive history-taking, physical exams, orders, and patient education.

The FNP will manage patient care within established standards, perform orders for treatments and tests, and coordinate follow-up care and referrals as needed. This position requires collaboration with leadership to ensure high-quality services across the patient

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing required.
• Experience working as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) required.
• Refer to Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a history and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Manages all patients according to Northside Hospital established standards of care and protocols.
• May order treatments, laboratory studies and x-rays as indicated for patients in the clinic or practice; may call in medications within licensure.
• Utilizes medical staff resources as required.
• Provides discharge instructions and checks for patient understanding.
• Provides follow-up care through referrals or follow-up visits.
• Collaborates with leadership to assure quality of care and services.
• Inputs and maintains patient information in the computer system or medical chart.

Responsibilities

• Conducts a history and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Manages all patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care and protocols established by assigned directors.
• May order treatments (including rehabilitation services), laboratory studies and x-rays as indicated for patients in the clinic or practice using established protocols. In addition, the Nurse Practitioner will appropriately call in medications within the scope of his/her licensure.
• Utilize medical staff resources as required.
• Provide patient with discharge instructions and will check for understanding of instructions.
• Provide the patient with follow up care when needed through a specialty physician referral or a follow up visit.
• Collaborate with leadership to assure quality of care and services to our customers.
• Input and maintain patient information in the computer system or medical chart as appropriate.
• Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment, malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to a member of management.
