Washington Regional Medical System in Northwest Arkansas is seeking a Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join our JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute in Fayetteville. This outpatient clinic role emphasizes comprehensive neurological assessment and coordinated patient care.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited NP program with an unencumbered NP license, CPR certification, and national NP certification, plus at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience,

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ clinical nursing experience, required. Vascular neurology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses.
• Order and perform diagnostic tests (x-rays, labs).
• Determine, plan, and initiate treatment; adjust as needed.
• Prescribe and dispense medications.
• Document medical information and maintain EMRs.
• Educate patients and families on health problems and home care; promote prevention.
• Coordinate referrals with physicians and clinics; support research initiatives.

Position Summary

Washington Regional is seeking Neurology Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional JB Hunt Transport Services Neuroscience Institute located in Northwest Arkansas. This position is outpatient clinic only.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
• Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
• Prescribe and dispense medications
• Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records
• Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics
• Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects

Qualifications

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program,
• Licensure and Certifications: Unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license and CPR, required. National certification, required.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required. Previous experience in Vascular Neurology preferred.

Work Environment

This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
