Job summary

Mind+ Neurology in Franklin, TN seeks a Nurse Practitioner specialized in headache medicine to provide comprehensive outpatient care for patients with headache and migraine disorders. You will perform detailed assessments, diagnose conditions, develop and adjust treatment plans, and educate patients on management strategies.

Experience in neurology or pain management is preferred. Licensure in Tennessee, national certification, and BLS are required.

Salary + Bonus Annual Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000

Summary:

The primary function of the outpatient Headache and Migraine Nurse Practitioner is to provide comprehensive, specialized patient care for individuals with headache and migraine disorders. Responsibilities include performing detailed assessments, diagnosing conditions, developing and managing treatment plans, administering advanced therapies, providing patient education, and managing patient cases via phone and online portal. This role is vital to our operations, and we seek a motivated individual willing to perform all aspects of advanced practice nursing care while embodying our five core values.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient-centered care and complete comprehensive initial assessments, including detailed headache histories, neurological exams, vital signs, and relevant health information.
• Diagnose headache and migraine disorders and develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families.
• Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient condition, including migraine exacerbations and neurological red flags.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and maintain accurate, thorough patient records.
• Prescribe and manage medications, including preventative and acute treatments, and administer therapies through various routes (IV, IM, oral, subcutaneous), including infusions, nerve blocks, and other specialty procedures.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust plans as clinically appropriate.
• Perform or assist with specialized procedures such as peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections, Botox for chronic migraine, and ultrasound-guided interventions when indicated.
• Provide thorough patient education and counseling on headache management, lifestyle modifications, medication use, and preventive strategies.
• Assess discharge needs and coordinate follow-up care.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate care across the patient population.
• Participate in professional development and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary headache care team.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required:

• Nurse Practitioner License issued by the state of Tennessee (or eligibility for Tennessee licensure).
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ANCC or AANP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification – approved by Mind+.

Education Required:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience Required:

• At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner providing direct patient care; experience in neurology, headache medicine, pain management, or related specialty preferred.
