Auren, also known as Kentucky Marijuana Card, is a multi‑state medical cannabis certification practice committed to compassionate, patient‑centered care. We help patients access safe, legal medical cannabis through high‑quality clinical evaluations, education, and support. Our Kentucky team is expanding, and we are seeking a dedicated APRN who values professionalism, empathy, and clinical excellence.

Kentucky Marijuana Card is seeking a compassionate, caring, and clinically confident Kentucky APRN to provide medical cannabis evaluations at in‑person patient drives, mobile clinic events, and occasional telemedicine sessions. This role is ideal for a provider who enjoys community‑based care, flexible scheduling, and meaningful patient interactions.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working in outdoor or semi‑outdoor environments, including tents, mobile units, and community event spaces. Reliable transportation and personal technology (laptop) are required.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
  • Conduct in‑person medical cannabis evaluations at scheduled patient drives and mobile events
  • Perform patient assessments, review medical history, and determine eligibility under KRS Chapter 218B
  • Independently exercise clinical judgment to diagnose or confirm qualifying conditions when appropriate
  • Complete all required state documentation, certifications, and EMR charting
  • Provide patient counseling regarding risks, benefits, and responsible cannabis use
  • Maintain a compassionate, respectful, and patient‑centered approach at all times
Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain an active, unrestricted Kentucky APRN license (KRS 314.042)
  • Maintain any required CAPA agreements (KRS 314.011(8), KRS 314.042(8))
  • Comply with Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program requirements (KRS 218B)
  • Comply with controlled substance laws (KRS 218A)
  • Follow telehealth standards (902 KAR 20:220; KRS 218B.015)
  • Adhere to professional standards of care (KRS 311.597)
  • Notify Auren immediately of any investigation, complaint, or license action
Operational Requirements
  • Attend scheduled patient drives across Kentucky
  • Work in variable outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) with reasonable accommodations
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation for statewide travel
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and professionally presented
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and patient‑friendly mobile clinic environment
Technology Requirements
  • Provide and maintain a personal laptop with camera, microphone, and speakers
  • Maintain high‑speed internet or hotspot capability
  • Maintain active email and access to Auren’s EMR and telemedicine systems
  • Ensure reliable connectivity during all patient encounters
Performance Standards
  • Average 6 patients per hour when applicable
  • Complete documentation within 24 hours
  • Respond to Auren communications weekly
  • Provide a minimum of 6 days of availability per month
  • Participate in chart audits, compliance reviews, and corrective actions
Qualifications
  • Active Kentucky APRN license (required) CAPA‑NS or CAPA‑CS as applicable
  • Experience in pain management, behavioral health, primary care, or cannabis medicine preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
  • Comfortable working in mobile or outdoor clinical environments
  • Reliable transportation and personal laptop
