Job summary

HealthDrive is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to manage medical needs of residents in sub-acute rehab and long-term care units on a later shift (12pm-8pm). The APRN will diagnose, treat, and oversee patient health, working with a medical staff and building relations with facility administrators.

We offer a 3-week paid training, mentorship, and comprehensive benefits. Schedule supports independent patient care with no nights, weekends, or on-call requirements for some roles.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and NP license required; board certification.
• DEA/Controlled Substance License and valid driver’s license.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience in gerontology, acute care, cardiology, internal medicine, or endocrinology.
• ICU/ER/SNF/PSYCH experience a plus; pulmonary/critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, post-acute, and preventative care for residents in assigned facilities.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays, etc.).
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses and propose treatments.
• Prescribe medications and maintain accurate records.
• Inform patients about health conditions and prescribed medications.
• Oversee patients’ overall health and coordinate with on-site staff.

Overview

HealthDrive is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (later shift 12pm-8pm) to manage the medical needs of skilled nursing residents in both the sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. The Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat health conditions, promote good health practices, and work collaboratively as a member of the medical staff. The APRN will also establish and build strong working relationships with administrators and staff throughout their designated building and will act as the primary point of contact for emergencies and routine medical visits. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests, and overseeing patient health.

Skills

• Experience in one of these Nurse Practitioner specialties: gerontology, acute care, cardiology, internal medicine, or endocrinology.
• Effective communication skills with the geriatric or Medicare population
• Nursing experience in ICU/ER/SNF/PSYCH a plus
• Pulmonary or Critical care experience required
