Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services in the Augusta area, 40 hours per week. Under the general direction of the Lead Nurse and the clinical direction of the Physician, you will provide basic medical services to meet the health needs of youth in the facilities.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating general medical issues, monitoring CQI programs related to patient care, and ensuring confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia.
• 2 years of clinical experience; correctional setting preferred.
• Good organizational and decision-making skills; able to work under pressure.
• Must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors and co-workers.
• Current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic medical services under direction of Lead Nurse and Physician.
• Evaluates and treats general medical and health needs of youth.
• Monitors CQI programs as they relate to patient care.
