Job summary

Indian Health Service seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide care to American Indian and Alaska Native peoples, delivering compassionate medical services in alignment with our mission.

You will work within a federal system, with rotating shifts including days/evenings/nights/weekends, and may be subject to probation and background checks. A recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus may be available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher-level degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active, full and unrestricted nursing license in the U.S. or territory.
• Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in required specialty.
• Official transcripts may be required from educational institutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patient histories and diagnostic information to form diagnoses.
• Develop treatment plans based on standards of care and guidelines.
• Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses and injuries.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, dosage and frequencies.
• Educate patients about self-management of illnesses, tailoring to individual needs.
