Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care to a specific patient population within established protocols at the Patewood Outpatient Center/Medical Offices. The NP will follow nursing standards and participate in the practice operations as part of the Geriatric LTC department.

The role reports to a supervisor and requires current NP licensure in the working state, prescriptive authority, and DEA license.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Official NP licensure in the state where working; prescriptive authority and DEA license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat diseases, defects or injuries within written protocols.
• Document care and billing via charting, summaries and correspondence.
• Participate in physician educational programs related to capitated medicine and practice patterns.
• Engage in quality assurance and utilization management programs.
• Assist in development of patient education, satisfaction surveys, and operational budgets.

Job Summary

Accountabilities

• Engages in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects.
• Performs all charting, summaries, correspondence and assorted paperwork that is required for purposes of documenting care and billing.
• Participates in physician educational programs provided by Employer relative to capitated medicine and its implications on physician practice patterns.
• Participates in responding to requests for proposals for managed care contracts.
• Participates in:
• Establishment of quality assurance programs
• Establishment of utilization management programs
• Selection of management information systems
• Development of patient education services
• Development of patient satisfaction surveys
• Assists in the development of operational and capital budgets.
• Participates in operational assessments in search of revenue enhancement, expense reductions, consolidation efficiencies and billing opportunities.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

• Official Recognition as a Nurse Practitioner in the state the team member is working
• Prescriptive Authority for the state in which the team member is working
• Controlled Substance license for the state in which the team member is working. Federal DEA license
