Job summary

Optum Washington (Arlington) is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology team in an outpatient setting. You will independently manage GI care, diagnose and treat a broad range of GI conditions, and collaborate within a team-based care model.

You will undergo robust onboarding for up to six months, then see approximately 14–16 patients per day after orientation. The schedule features four 10‑hour days with potential one virtual day later.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• National NP certification (AANP or ANCC).
• Unrestricted Washington State license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
• Active Washington State DEA license prior to start date.
• 2+ years practicing as a fully independent nurse practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and provide comprehensive outpatient Gastroenterology care to an established patient population.
• Evaluate, diagnose and treat a broad range of GI conditions.
• Collaborate closely with fellow Nurse Practitioners and Gastroenterologists in a team-based care model with a strong referral base.
• Nurse Practitioners are fully integrated, supported members of the care team with active involvement in clinical decision making.
• This is an outpatient only setting with no inpatient responsibilities, procedures or call.
• Robust onboarding up to 6 months alongside experienced team members. This gradual ramp is designed to fully support the long-term success of every team member.
• After structured orientation, providers see approximately 14-16 patients per day.

Your practice:

Schedule & Flexibility

• Typical schedule of 4 ten-hour days
• Full time defined as 36 patient contact hours per week
• After successful onboarding, providers may have the option for one full day of virtual visits per week

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $130,000- $164,000. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
