Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Ridgeway Internal Medicine seeks a Nurse Practitioner to manage an ambulatory patient panel within a Primary Care setting. The NP will perform histories and exams, order labs, develop treatment plans with physicians, and ensure continuous patient care across daily operations.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, strong documentation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of full-time clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care site required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Compassionate, warm and patient focused.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior.

Responsibilities

• Take complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians; perform physical examinations; order laboratory tests, x-rays, imaging and other procedures.
• Develop tentative diagnoses and treatment plans with attending physician for optimal patient care.
• Interact with other medical teams and participate in data collection for research projects.
• Regularly interact with patients and families with empathy and effective communication.
• Prescribe medications, write orders, and respond to acute changes in patient condition.
• Obtain complete patient histories and document data to support diagnosis and plan.
