Job summary

Hygea Healthcare, Inc. seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psychiatric-Mental Health NP (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team in Middle River, MD.

This PRN-part-time position (12-24 hours/week) focuses on medical oversight across detox, residential, and transitional care within a behavioral health and addiction-medicine setting. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and dedicated to evidence-based care, with active NP certification and MD license.

Qualifications

• Active FNP-BC or PMHNP certification.
• Maryland NP license and DEA license.
• Experience in addiction medicine or behavioral health preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical assessments including H&Ps and ongoing monitoring.
• Manage chronic conditions and support stabilization during withdrawal management.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and safe medication administration.
• Collaborate with nursing, psychiatric providers, counselors, case managers, UR, and clinical leadership to ensure continuity of care.
• Document in the EMR (KIPU) in line with regulatory standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance workflows.
• Support infection control and urgent medical interventions as needed.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and discharge planning.

Location: Middle River

About the Role

Hygea Healthcare is seeking a mission-driven Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team across detox (3.7), residential (3.5), and transitional/low-intensity (3.1) levels of care. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and committed to providing safe, evidence-based medical oversight in a behavioral health and addiction-medicine setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical assessments, including H&Ps, ongoing medical monitoring, and acute symptom evaluation
• Manage chronic medical conditions and support stabilization during withdrawal management
• Conduct medication reconciliation and ensure safe medication administration practices
• Collaborate closely with nursing, psychiatric providers, counselors, case managers,, UR, and clinical leadership to ensure medical necessity and continuity of care
• Provide timely documentation in the EMR (KIPU) aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance-driven workflows
• Support infection control, communicable disease protocols, and urgent medical interventions as needed
• Educate patients on health maintenance, recovery-supportive medical care, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active FNP-BC or PMHNP certification
• Maryland NP license, Active DEA license
• Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, urgent care, or acute care preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing complex medical presentations
