Job summary

Qualifications

  • ACLS or PALS may be required depending on unit.
  • Current BLS training is required.
  • Credentialing as active medical staff member and privileges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care for complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions.
  • Deliver care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
  • Work in settings with high‑acuity monitoring and therapies.
  • Review records and treatment plans to ensure quality care and ORC compliance.
  • Participate in FPPE/OPPE as part of Joint Commission requirements.
  • Support health promotion, prevention, and discharge planning as directed.

Job Summary

Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday. The position will float between Marietta and Belpre primary care locations with minimal school health coverage.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
  • National Certification as a nurse practitioner by a nationally accredited organization
  • Current certificate of authority and prescription authority (or eligibility) by the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • ACLS or PALS may be required based on practice setting
  • Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required
  • Licensed as an RN in State of Ohio
  • Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges
  • Individuals hired without an MSN or DNP and without a certificate to prescribe must pursue and obtain a MSN or DNP degree/certificate promptly

Responsibilities
  1. Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services
  2. Practices with a variety of specialty‑based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult
  3. Works in any setting requiring complex monitoring and therapies, high‑intensity nursing intervention, or continuous nursing vigilance within the range of high‑acuity care
  4. Participates in quality monitoring by reviewing records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a bi‑annual basis to assure quality care and meet ORC requirements
  5. Undergoes Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) as part of Joint Commission requirements for Advanced Practice Providers
  6. Emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems
  7. Assists with and facilitates discharge planning and provides consultations as directed in accordance with hospital bylaws
Technical Expertise
  1. Excellent critical thinking, self‑motivation, and interpersonal communication skills
  2. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database use, and other computer software for data analysis and presentations
Education and Experience
  1. Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
  2. Licensed as an RN in Ohio and nationally certified as a nurse practitioner
  3. Current certificate of authority and prescription authority (or eligibility) by Ohio Board of Nursing; ACLS or PALS may be required based on setting
  4. Obtained medical staff credentialing and appropriate privileges
  5. Current BLS training required
