University Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the neonatal care team, supporting care in the delivery room, well-baby nursery and NICU under physician supervision.
The role involves developing expertise in neonatal patient management, with requirements including Texas PA licensure, current NRP, prescriptive authority, and DEA/DPS numbers obtained within 90 days of hire.
Carries out, under the direction of the designated neonatal provider, assignments designed to develop expertise in specified area/specialty. Assignments will be centered around comprehensive care to neonates up to 6 months of age, high-quality front-line care for infants in the delivery room, well-baby nursery and neonatal intensive care unit, and follow-up care to newborns and infants.
Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee’s predecessor or successor entities is required.
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended. Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
Must maintain current NRP. Prescriptive authority is required. Valid DEA and DPS numbers must be obtained within 90-days of hire.
