Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for new and established cardiology patients.

We have an exciting full-time position for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner, with a passion for cardiology to join a collaborative group of reputable Cardiologists in a well-established practice.

You will provide direct patient care to new and established patients, including evaluation, treatment and technical procedures, as well as provide health education, referrals to other disciplines and consultation with other allied health personnel.

Our location in Central Connecticut offers easy access to all the amenities of the NewEngland region, including first rate schools and a choice of family oriented suburban communities. Close proximity to urban living with professional sporting events, concerts, ballet, theaters, easy access to skiing and shoreline. We are located only two hours from NYC and Boston.

JOB DUTIES
  • Performs medical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, consultations, and treatment.
  • Effective communication with the collaborating physician and staff within the Bristol Hospital Multi-Specialty Group System.
  • Collaborative approach with nursing service and ancillary staff for patient care of patients admitted to the Bristol Hospital System.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Directs and coordinates the care of patients between specialists and other relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
  • Follows established Department/Divisional policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Participates in committee activities as assigned by the employer.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the employer.
  • Participates/Coordinates in Bristol Hospital HealthCare Group programs as assigned.
  • Prepare all reports, claims and correspondence necessary or appropriate in connection with professional services rendered by Physician Assistant.
  • Obtain consultation with physicians as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation for and participate in surveys by federal or state regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies.
  • Participate in clinical guideline development, care management programs and quality assurance as directed.
  • Provide input and support to the development and management of the practice.
  • Participate and comply with BHMSG and Hospital compliance programs and activities, including participation in any compliance education programs deemed necessary or appropriate by BHMSG or Hospital including but not limited to billing and coding compliance programs .
  • Comply with all BHMSG reimbursement requirements including the timely completion of billing slips and accurate coding of services.
  • Serve on BHMSG, Hospital and Medical Staff committees as requested by the Employer.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with other professional members of BHMSG and the Hospital.

Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, valid Connecticut medical license, Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)

Advanced Practice Provider will meet the standards and requirements for Adjunct Medical Staff membership as defined in the Hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws.
