Qualifications

• Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice
• Three years of clinical experience
• Current California RN license
• California NP License
• DEA license within 6 months of hire
• National NP Board Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR)
• ACLS and PALS

Responsibilities

• Utilize the City of Hope nursing process in clinical practice.
• Assume independent, direct medical management of a defined patient population with physician collaboration.
• Perform physical examinations applying medical model and nursing process.
• Develop and follow protocols/standardized procedures for practice for NPs in the department.
• Assist in developing methods and systems for provision of medical care and department operations.
• Maintain open lines of communication with physicians and health team.
• Develop and implement patient education activities; provide counseling to patients.
• Participate in performance improvement activities to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Engage in ongoing professional growth through education and literature review.
