Job summary

Anchorage Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care within an outpatient MAT program. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and prescribe medications as permitted by Alaska regulations, under guidance of the Medical Director and Nurse Supervisor.

This part-time role offers a fixed M, T, W, F schedule from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and compensation at $80 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of NP practice preferred.
  • Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with MAT medications (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).
  • Familiarity with state regulatory standards (Alaska).

Responsibilities

  • Provides initial and annual history and physical evaluation; assesses eligibility for treatment.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory studies, reviews results and provides education, referral and follow up services.
  • Monitors the treatment plans of high risk patients.
  • Prescribes MAT medications as allowed by state regulation.
  • Collaborates with Medical Director to plan and implement care.
  • Reports and documents significant patient issues and adverse events.

Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)

Role As Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care under the supervision of the Medical Director; may also be directed by Nurse Supervisor for the clinic under the state licensure guidelines for Nurse Practitioners; evaluates and monitors treatment of patients as part of a healthcare team at the clinic. May prescribe medication as allowed by state regulation.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provides initial and annual history and physical evaluation, assesses eligibility for treatment, evaluates patients’ history of dependence on opioids;
  • Orders appropriate laboratory studies, reviews laboratory results and provides necessary education, referral and / or follow up services to patients;
  • Monitors the treatment plans of high risk patients.
  • Prescribes medication for the treatment of substance abuse according to patient need as allowed by state regulation;
  • Consults and collaborates with Medical Director to plan and implement care according to Nurse Practitioner Guidelines;
  • Reports and documents significant patient issues and adverse events;
  • Communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team;
  • Collaborates with Nurse Supervisor to optimize quality and efficiency;
  • Ensures that the program and employees’ transactions and activities are in full compliance with all laws and clinic legal compliance program policies and standards of conduct; and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing nurse practitioner preferred.
  • Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities preferred
  • Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
  • Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment
Licenses/Designations/Certifications
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Alaska
  • DEA license.
