Job summary

Vail Health seeks a qualified nurse to provide skilled care for acute pain service patients in Vail, CO. You will perform daily rounds, assess patients, plan care, and collaborate with PACU/PreOp, pharmacy, therapists, surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Responsibilities include nursing process application, education for staff, and compliance with governing standards. A master’s degree in nursing and current licensure are required. This role is full-time, on-site with shift days, year-round.

• Must have working knowledge of the English language.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing master’s program.
• License and certifications per the employee’s contract.

• Utilize the nursing process as the format for nursing practice.
• Demonstrates flexibility in nursing practice.
• Administers medication, implements or delegates patient care orders, and documents responses.
• Performs daily rounds on acute pain patients and coordinates with care teams.
• Assists acute pain anesthesiologist with nerve blocks and maintains data for the acute pain service.

Pay

Hourly $55.40 – $67.52 USD

About the opportunity:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for providing nursing care for acute pain service patients and their families. Will perform daily rounds on all acute pain patients including patient assessment and plan formation. Will act as the liaison between patients, patient care unit nursing staff, PACU/PreOp nursing staff, pharmacy, physical therapists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. Will assist acute pain anesthesiologist with nerve blocks. Will establish database and maintain statistics for acute pain service. Will perform acute pain education for patient care unit nursing staff, PACU/PreOp/OR nursing staffs and others as needed.
