Job summary

The State of Wyoming's Wyoming Life Resource Center invites a Nurse Practitioner to join its clinical leadership team, delivering comprehensive care to residents in a collaborative setting. You will perform evaluations, coordinate treatment, and mentor staff to support resident wellness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Clinical Leadership: Facilitate seamless transitions for residents between healthcare settings and advocate for their physiological stability.
  • Empower the Team: Serve as a mentor and resource for staff and families, providing the education and tools they need to support resident progress.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work hand-in-hand with an interdisciplinary team (Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to ensure a 360-degree approach to care.

  • Other duties as required.
PREFERENCES / AGENCY REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a Wyoming State Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (APRN) with prescriptive authority and Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy certification.

KNOWLEDGE
  • Knowledge of medicine and/or nursing including pediatric, obstetrical, gynecological, surgical, and /or emergency outpatient medical care.
  • Knowledge of prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Public Health initiatives and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulations related to the profession and governing regulations for an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
  • Skills in computer usage and use of electronic health records.
  • Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to maintain current provider cards in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Skills in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents, staff, families, guardians, and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: As required by the Licensing Board

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the Wyoming Board of Nursing.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, pull, push, etc. as would be expected to provide patient care and treatment in clinic and hospital settings.
  • Ability to work directly with residents who display aggressive and challenging behaviors.
NOTES
  • FLSA: Exempt
  • This is an At-Will position.
  • The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
