Job summary

Saratoga Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the team at the VA Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This is a full-time position with a locum tenens option.

You will perform independent assessments, diagnose and treat illnesses and trauma, manage chronic conditions, conduct exams, immunizations, prescribe medications, order tests, and provide patient counseling. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Currently registered with the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
• Must have at least one year of experience in an area of placement within the past year.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of all illnesses and trauma.
• Manage chronic health problems.
• Perform physical exams, administer indicated immunizations, prescribe medications, and provide counsel and guidance to patients.
• Order and interpret lab tests, X-rays, electrocardiograms, etc.
