Job summary

Tower Behavioral Health in Reading, PA, is hiring a full-time PMHNP to provide psychiatric care in an inpatient setting on-site. The team includes 11 psychiatric providers and 2 medical providers, with WellSky EMR support.

The role offers base salary of $150,000–$170,000, plus productivity bonuses, relocation assistance, sign-on bonus, and generous time off; weekend/holiday coverage is paid. Must be Board Certified and licensed in the state.

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner program completed.
• Board-certified NP preferred (see licenses).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness with a care team.
• Formulate and contribute to Master Treatment Plan.
• Assess physical/psychiatric health and plan care.
• Document observations, evaluations and treatments per policy.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to ensure quality care.
• Encourage family involvement in patient care and education.
• Follow legal requirements, hospital policies, and bylaws.
• Provide state-guideline compliant NP services and on-call duties.

We Are Hiring: PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner)

Join our growing Acute Inpatient Behavioral Health team! We are seeking a full-time PMHNP to provide compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Position Highlights

• Full-time, 40 hours/week, on-site
• Treat approximately 16 patients per day
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, admissions, treatment planning, and discharge management
• Work alongside an experienced team of 11 psychiatric providers and 2 medical providers

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $150,000 - $170,000

Summary

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team.
• Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plan
• Assess physical and psychiatric health of patient and formulate measures to meet patient needs.
• Chart clinical observation (direct or through dictation), evaluations and treatment of patient in required time according to facility guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians and other staff as necessary to provide quality care for patient within appropriate guidelines.
• Encourage family involvement in patient care. Respond to identified patient and family educational needs.
• Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements.
• Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
• Provide on-call responsibilities on scheduled basis directed by medical staff.
• May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe medication.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program required.
• Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and patient care required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Practicing Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
• Licensed to practice in the state in which the facility operates.
• DEA license.
