Job summary

GhostRx in Orlando, FL seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join a nonprofit behavioral health organization delivering integrated care across inpatient, crisis, detox, and community programs. The role supports Family/Primary Care and PMHNP tracks with rotating 3×12-hour shifts.

GhostRx is recruiting a full-time Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join the largest Central Florida behavioral health organization, a nonprofit provider of integrated behavioral health, addiction medicine, and primary care, in Orlando. Family/Primary Care (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP) nurse practitioners are both encouraged to apply. Working 3×12-hour day or night shifts, you will provide exceptional medical and psychiatric care across the organization’s integrated continuum, including inpatient acute care, crisis stabilization, detox, residential treatment, office-based medical services, and community programs. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with co-occurring mental health, substance use, and primary care needs, prescribe and manage medications, and collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and therapists to deliver whole-person, patient-centered care.

Qualification and Requirements
  • Active, unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Florida
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or post-master’s certificate from an accredited college or university
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP)
  • Current DEA registration and Florida prescriptive authority, or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum of 2 years of nurse practitioner experience preferred; motivated new graduates will be considered
  • Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or integrated primary care strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to obtain Level II background clearance (fingerprinting costs covered by employer)
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and pharmacologic skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work 3×12-hour day or night shifts on a rotating schedule
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments, including history, physical examination, and mental status evaluation
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic behavioral health, substance use, and primary care conditions within scope of practice
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Prescribe, titrate, and monitor psychotropic and medical medications, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies and adjust treatment accordingly
  • Provide detox and withdrawal management oversight on inpatient acute and residential units
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, preventive care, and health promotion
  • Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits and modify treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers to coordinate integrated care across the continuum
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in integrated care
