Position Type: Remote, telehealth - opportunity to be on-site if needed

Wise Path Recovery Centers - Morgantown, WV (in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join on a part-time basis (16-24 hours per week, flexible hours) to support outpatient treatment in Morgantown, WV. The position is primarily remote.

Position Description

The Nurse Practitioner will handle all aspects of client care, including diagnosis, treatment, medication, and withdrawal management, focusing on substance use disorder treatment while addressing other physical and mental health concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of clients.
• Prescribe and administer medications in collaboration with the supervising physician.
• Complete medical records, reports, and provide referrals to medical services and primary care providers.
• Coordinate patient care with the PCP or other physicians prescribing psychoactive medications.
• Participate in case planning and consultation with relevant staff and medical director.
• Educate clients about treatment options.
• Provide empathic, strength-based care.
• Manage emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or respiratory distress.
• Work occasional weekend on-call shifts.
• Participate in clinical/medical committees, provide education, and conduct quality reviews.

Education, Experience, and Licenses

• Master’s degree in nursing required.
• Valid Professional License/Certification for West Virginia required.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) preferred.
• Data Waiver (must be completed before hire date).
• 2+ years experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health preferred.
• Eligible for DEA license.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medication administration and practice.
• Competency in behavioral health and addiction treatment.
• CPR certification required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
