RWJBarnabas Health's Primary Care at Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform duties independently following established procedures and consulting physicians as needed.

In this part-time role (30 hours/week), the NP will work day shifts with alternating Saturdays, handle patient assessments, order labs, prescribe per federal/state guidelines, document care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician by recording patient progress notes, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribes orders
• Assists with counseling and education functions
• Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations
• Documents and maintains patient records according to nursing standards
• Develops plan of care in coordination with the multidisciplinary team
• Establishes collaborative relationships with other medical providers
• Examines patients, prescribes treatments, and issues prescriptions as indicated
• Orders and reviews lab and diagnostic procedures
• Participates in development of protocols
• Performs and documents medical history and physicals
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
• Maintains quality and adequacy of nursing practice
• Coordinates nursing and training programs and HIPAA/OSHA compliance
• Interviews and educates patients on health and illness prevention
• Instructs patients and families regarding medications

• Thursdays 9a-7:30p
• Fridays 7a-5:30p
• Alternating Saturdays 7a-5:30p and Tuesdays 9a-7:30p

• Assists physician by recording patient progress notes, issues diagnostic orders, and transcribes orders

• Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers including neurology residents and fellows
• Examines patients to determine presence of illness, utilizing physical findings, laboratory results, medical history, ascertains nature and extent of illness and prescribes treatments as indicated
• Issues prescriptions to patients based on Federal & State Regulations
• Orders and reviews appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
• Reviews all lab data and documents
• Participates in the development of protocols
• Performs and obtains a completed medical history and physical data on patients with appropriate documentation and findings
• Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
• Responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice
• Reviews and audits charts routinely
• Responsible for coordinating nursing and training programs on compliant for policies such as HIPPA, OSHA, Code of Conduct,
• Works in collaboration with a physician to diagnose conditions as necessary
• Interviews, instructs and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention
