Job summary

Odyssey Behavioral Group in Dublin, OH is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a per diem, PRN role to conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication consultations, and collaborate with care teams.

You will prescribe detoxification regimens when indicated, review labs, and support nursing staff while ensuring patient safety and compliance with OH regulations.

Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified Nurse Practitioner in OH.
• Experience with PHP/IOP and psychiatric settings preferred.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and staff.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Livescan fingerprint checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for clients admitted to the program.
• Provide pharmacological treatment and medication consultations as needed.
• Prescribe detoxification regimens that are safe and appropriate.
• Perform routine medical and psychiatric checkups and reviews.
• Order labs and UAs; review results and adjust care as necessary.
• Complete progress notes and collaborate with the treatment team.
• Pre-screen potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records.
• Support nursing staff and maintain a safe environment.

The position is primarily responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, medication consultation and collaboration with care teams as needed. The position will provide pharmacological treatment, if indicated, and request and review any needed lab work. Position collaborates with team members, care givers, external medical providers to oversee and promote the health and safety of clients throughout the treatment process.

Relationships and Contacts

• Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout Aster Springs and affiliated facilities.
• Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.

Position Responsibilities

• PRN position
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
• Prescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorder
• Routine checkups and Medication checks for clients in services
• Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
• Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimen
• Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
• Pre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
• Order Lab work and UAs as needed
• Complete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting client
• Complete physical for every admitting client
• Make referrals to specialist as needed
• Order and administer Vivitrol as needed
• Consult with the treatment team
• Complete progress notes as needed
• Support Nursing staff.

Qualifications: Experience

• Board Eligible or Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. All necessary requirements must be met in OH.
• Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience desired.
• Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff.
• Performs duties independently, responsibly and with a high level of integrity
• A valid Driver's license and a generally clean driving record are required. Employees may be required to drive personal or company vehicles.
• State licensing DHS and DSS prohibit individuals with specific criminal charges, conducted by Livescan fingerprint checks. Exemptions offered.
