Job description

Part-Time or Full-Time | Flexible Schedule | Greater Clinical Focus, Less Administrative Burden

Preferred Podiatry Group (PPG) is hiring an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide foot and lower-extremity focused care to patients in long-term care, skilled nursing, nursing home, and senior living communities throughout Wisconsin.

Join a growing clinical team focused on improving patient mobility, preventing complications, and enhancing quality of life — with the autonomy to manage your schedule and dedicated operational support behind you.

What You'll Do

  • Provide foot and lower-extremity focused care within your scope of practice to residents in long-term and senior care facilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage common foot and lower-extremity conditions
  • Provide diabetic foot care, preventative care, wound prevention, and patient mobility education
  • Identify changes in condition and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
  • Collaborate with facility nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Participate in applicable Medicare quality programs and clinical initiatives
  • Complete timely clinical documentation in NextGen EMR using a company-issued iPad
  • Practice autonomously in accordance with Wisconsin APRN requirements and PPG clinical standards

Why You'll Love PPG

  • Flexible scheduling — choose the days you work
  • Part-time and full-time opportunities available
  • Competitive, production-based compensation with no cap on earnings
  • Dedicated support for scheduling, supplies, billing, licensing, and credentialing
  • Travel and mileage reimbursement
  • Company-issued iPad for EMR documentation
  • Ongoing training, mentorship, and clinical development
  • High level of clinical autonomy
  • Work-life balance without the administrative burden of building your own practice

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current national Nurse Practitioner certification through an applicable certifying body, such as AANP or ANCC
  • Active Registered Nurse license and ability to obtain appropriate Wisconsin RN/APRN licensure
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate Nurse Practitioner/APRN clinical practice experience
  • Must meet or be able to meet Wisconsin Board of Nursing requirements for Independent APRN Practice prior to independent field practice
  • Qualifying APRN experience must include the clinical practice hours required by Wisconsin for Independent APRN Practice
  • Ability to provide documentation/verification of qualifying clinical practice hours as required by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing
  • Willingness to complete all Wisconsin APRN licensing requirements, including the required jurisprudence examination
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to work autonomously and travel between assigned long-term care facilities

Preferred

  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, geriatrics, wound care, diabetic care, primary care, or podiatry-related clinical experience
  • Previous experience practicing independently or in a highly autonomous clinical setting
  • ACLS certification

Due to the autonomous nature of this position, candidates must qualify for Independent APRN Practice under Wisconsin law before practicing independently with PPG.

Experienced Nurse Practitioners currently licensed in another state are encouraged to apply. Qualifying out-of-state APRN clinical experience may be considered toward Wisconsin's Independent Practice requirements, subject to review and approval by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing.

Candidates whose practice currently requires an ongoing physician or dentist collaborative relationship may require additional review to determine eligibility for this position.
