Job summary

Pain Specialists of America, a Texas-based pain management group with multiple locations, seeks a Licensed Practitioner to manage health problems and coordinate care in compliance with state and federal rules. Responsibilities include exams, histories, care plans, diagnostic testing, medication administration, and patient/family education.

RNs with Texas licensure and ANCC/AANP board certification are preferred; prior pain management experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program and active Texas RN license.
• Board certification by ANCC or AANP preferred but not required.
• Experience with pain management patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and patient observations.
• Record patient histories and symptoms.
• Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
• Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Detect changes in a patient’s health and adjust treatment plans.
• Administer medicines and treatments.
• Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
• Consult with healthcare professionals.
• Train patients and families on managing pain.

Pain Specialists of America (“PSA” or “Company”) is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management company that includes over 20 locations, two ASCs, and a CLIA-certified laboratory located in New Braunfels. PSA is growing rapidly. We require extremely competent, talented professionals who can support the business and help it achieve its strategic objectives.

PSA is looking for a Licensed Practitioner who will be responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care.

Essential Functions

• Perform physical exams and patient observations.
• Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
• Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
• Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.
• Administer medicines and treatments.
• Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
• Consult with healthcare professionals.
• Train patients and families on managing pain.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program. Must have RN licensure in Texas and be board certified by either ANCC or AANP. Prior experience working with pain management patients is preferred but is not required.
