Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Nurse Manager RN - Emergency Room ER to lead clinical operations in a busy, accredited hospital. You will drive nursing standards, patient satisfaction, and evidence-based practice across the ER units.

Responsibilities include developing unit goals, leading monthly meetings, and managing budgets while controlling overtime and staffing metrics. A Texas RN license with leadership experience is required, along with multiple certifications within

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, ASN, or BSN nursing program.
• RN license in Texas or Multi-State Compact with Texas license within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days; BLS within 30 days; ENPC within 6 months; NIH Stroke Scale within 6 months; NONVIOLENT Crisis Intervention within 6 months; PALS within 6 months; TNCC within 6 months.
• 3-5 years of ER experience is highly desired.
• 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital/healthcare environment required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Drive mission, nursing standards, patient satisfaction, and Studer Concepts across assigned units.
• Develops four unit-specific goals aligned with the organization and documents progress for leadership.
• Encourages frontline staff to develop evidence-based practices and participate actively in department councils.
• Conducts ten monthly staff meetings annually and shares detailed updates via minutes and memos.
• Prepares and manages expense, personnel, capital, and supply budgets using advanced information systems.
• Controls overtime, PTO, and Nursing Hours per Patient Day to deliver cost-efficient, quality care.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• 3-5 years of ER experience highly desired
• 1 year of previous Leadership experience in a hospital/healthcare environment required.
