Job summary

Sierra Vista Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead an interdisciplinary nursing team in a behavioral health setting. The role emphasizes coordinated patient care in line with hospital standards, policy and quality improvement goals.

The Nurse Manager will supervise nursing staff, support hospital philosophy and participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Current RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing. A valid driver's license is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA requirements and state regulatory requirements; CPR certification and completion of hospital training in behavioral and physical management required; may need to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives.
• Provide supervision to the nursing staff assigned to the unit; contribute to hospital philosophy, objectives and Quality Improvement efforts.

This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and Quality Improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff assigned to his/her unit.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management is acceptable.

Experience:

• A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure:

• Current RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state regulatory requirements preferred. The Manager must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint required prior to assisting in the procedures. May be required to work flexible hours
