Jobbeschreibung

Bring bold leadership to the front line as the Nurse Manager of Emergency Department at a respected community hospital near a historic waterfront city, walkable historic downtown, exceptional outdoor recreation, and a convenient stop to the Outer Banks!

The Emergency Department Nurse Manager will join a mission-driven healthcare organization where patient-first care, clinical safety, and continuous improvement guide everyday practice. This hospital supports evidence-based nursing, interdisciplinary collaboration, clinician-friendly protocols, quality analytics, infection prevention, and transparent safety reporting. Educational resources, leadership development, shared decision-making, employee well-being initiatives, and pathways for professional advancement will empower the Nurse Manager of Emergency Department to strengthen outcomes, staff engagement, and access to compassionate community care.

The Nurse Manager of Emergency Department will oversee a dynamic emergency department, emergency room, and trauma-focused care environment serving patients with urgent, emergent, and potentially life-threatening conditions. This nursing leader will advance rapid assessment, timely triage, patient throughput, care coordination, regulatory readiness, clinical quality, and the patient experience. Beyond the hospital, the Emergency Department Nurse Manager will work near a historic waterfront city with a walkable historic downtown, abundant outdoor recreation, and a convenient stop to the Outer Banks.

Reporting to senior nursing leadership, the Emergency Department Nurse Manager will receive support from experienced partners in clinical operations, quality, nursing education, finance, human resources, and hospital administration. Responsibilities will include daily department operations, staffing and scheduling, budget stewardship, employee engagement, professional development, policy implementation, performance improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager of Emergency Department will mentor friendly nurses while collaborating with a diverse healthcare team of physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, pharmacists, case managers, social workers, and allied health professionals.

The Nurse Manager of Emergency Department will enjoy an appealing lifestyle in northeastern North Carolina, where scenic waterways, mild seasons, historic architecture, parks, and green space create an inviting place to call home. Boating, fishing, kayaking, cycling, beach excursions, concerts, arts programs, community festivals, regional attractions, and coastal cuisine provide plenty to enjoy throughout the year. Varied housing choices, a manageable cost of living, short commutes, schools, healthcare access, shopping, fitness options, and family-friendly neighborhoods add everyday convenience. For an Emergency Department Nurse Manager seeking work-life balance, the region offers welcoming communities, lower-density living, access to nature, and convenient travel to the Outer Banks, regional airports, and larger metropolitan destinations.

The Nurse Manager of Emergency Department will receive competitive compensation and a full suite of health and retirement benefits, potentially including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings programs, education assistance, and professional development support.
