Job summary

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager (RN) for Med/Surg in Nashville, TN. This role provides continual clinical and administrative direction for a patient care unit and leads policy development for the unit.

Responsibilities include operational leadership across Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Forensics units, directing charge nurses, ensuring staffing coverage, and maintaining quality and compliance with state and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
• Active Tennessee RN license upon hire.
• Master’s in Nursing preferred.
• ACLS, CPI and Chemo certifications required within 2 months.
• BLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across units to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Oversee charge nurses and direct floor nursing staff.
• Coordinate procedures, blood transfusions, and other routine activities.
• Monitor patient flow and acuity; inform supervisors of issues.
• Provide staff development, evaluations, and coaching.
• Ensure policy enforcement and regulatory readiness.
